Naruto Techniques: Bloodline Limits

Bloodline Limit techniques are techniques passed down through the DNA of particular clans. A bloodline limit technique can only be used by those possessing a superior genetic trait. For example, Sasuke is a member of the Uchiha clan. Because of this, he was born with eyes capable of using the Sharingan technique. This bloodline limit is what made the Uchiha clan so prominent and powerful.

Naruto Episode 14 starts with a concise plot summary. Iruka tells the story of Naruto including all the events leading up to this point, from Naruto's birth to the present battle where he barges into the middle of the fight with Haku. As is typical for Naruto, he completely loses the element of surprise and is almost killed by Zabuza. Thankfully Haku deflects the attack and saves Naruto, hoping for a more honorable battle.

Haku uses his Ice Mirrors technique to continue attacking Sasuke, giving him multiple flesh wounds as he toys with him. Naruto bursts into the mirrors, hoping to help. He only manages to get caught in the technique himself. After Sasuke's fireball fails to melt the ice, Haku explains that his mirrors reflect him at such high speeds, they look like they're standing still.

Haku explains that he doesn't want to kill them, but he must protect Zabuza and do his will. For that, he is willing to "become a ninja" and forget his emotions so that he can kill them without remorse. Suddenly this fight is truly serious.
